WHY GAME CHANGERS

how this girls are shifting perspectives

Each one of them are shifting the way there family and social circle works, by learning and interacting with other cultures and challenging their status quo, they are bringing to the table important subjects like feminism, financial freedom, how to make money, savings, emotional management, anger management, and many other things that nobody around them has ever questioned before and achieving with this, small but consistent changes in their inner circle that create waves of change around their whole community.

Meet the girls who participate in our Game Changers programs, get to know them better and what are their dreams and goals. You can get to meet them at the Mexican Food 101 tour when they are not in school and they join the tours to practice their English.

 

WENDY

Age: 17 years old

Birthday: April 5th

Favorite food: Pasta, tacos, chicken taquitos

Favorite color: Purple

Dream job: Flight attendant

Why is she saving money for: to be able to live in Canada for 1 year

Biggest dream: Speak English fluently and don’t let herself down

Favorite bite from the tours: Green chorizo taco

Her favorite thing about doing tours: that she can communicate with guests and tell her story

What makes her feel proud or herself: that she can understand the guests tal to her and when she gets to do parts of the tour by herself.

The best thing she has learned in the program:

Fun fact: she can make a clover leaf with her tongue

 

MONTSE

Age: 14 years old

Birthday: August 22nd

Favorite food: pozole

Favorite color: Pink

Dream job: Doesn’t´know yet

Why is she saving money for: to pay for her quinceañera

Biggest dream: Her quinceañera party

Favorite bite from the tours: tlacoyo

Her favorite thing about doing tours: the tips, what can we say, this girl is a business woman!

What makes her feel proud or herself: Her brains, she’s a very smart girl.

The best thing she has learned in the program:English and that she is capable of achieving anything.

Fun fact: Montse is an expert eye roller.

 

ARELI

Age: 23 years old

Birthday: July 2nd

Favorite food: pozole, chicken tostadas, steak with green sauce, potatoes and nopales

Favorite color: Baby blue

Dream job: Doesn’t´know yet

Why is she saving money for: to pay for her quinceañera

Biggest dream: Learning English and provide he kids, being able to take them on a yearly Holliday and show them the world.

Favorite bite from the tours: Green chorizo tacos, the tlacoyos made by her aunt and the potatoes taco de canasta.

Her favorite thing about doing tours: When guest tip her, because that means they are recognizing her efforts and understanding her English

What makes her feel proud or herself: 

The best thing she has learned in the program: The culture and history of different countries in the world.

Fun fact: her tongue can reach her nose

 

CAMILA

Age: 17 years old

Birthday: May 17th

Favorite food: Pastor tacos and pasta

Favorite color: blue, pink and black

Dream job: staff at an international summer camp

Why is she saving money for: to pay for a trip to Turkey

Biggest dream: to travel the whole world

Favorite bite from the tours: green chorizo taco

Her favorite thing about doing tours: that every tour is very different, the vibe and dynamics change with every group.

What makes her feel proud or herself: Her grades are amazing and she gets to work in something she loves.

The best thing she has learned in the program: she loves learning about the world cultures because we do it by eating and its a very dynamic way.

Fun fact: she can sleep for 16 hours straight and she plays the flute and the piano
