Best tour for kids up to 8 years old, if your children are older than 8 and really adventurous and well traveled they do amazing in the Mexican Food 101 itinerary.

Traveling with kids can be challenging, but this tour is the best solution, we created a foodie adventure amazing for both, parents and kids. Visiting the flower market a beautiful and safe place where kids can taste delicious tacos, cheese quesadillas, candy, corn, ice cream and jicaletas, a Mexican treat made with jicama sprinkled with flavored sugar.

Parents can relax while our expert guides take care of the kids, creating challenges and adventures to keep them interested, kids will be rewarded with a tiny piñata and candy at the end of the tour. And also will join the Brave and Adventurous kids travelers club, we will give them badges to prove it to their friends. (We have moree surprises for the children but we don’t want to spoil them). To finish we go back to Condesa for fun gummy bears and lime popsicles and we can walk you to the nearest playground to burn all the sugar and calories.

Condesa – Coffee/Hot chocolate and street food

Start your day with craft coffee or delicious chocolate for the kids and traditional pan dulce, then hit the streets and taste 2 different tacos. We have great options for picky eaters and delicious ones for the parents.

11:30 AM

Jamaica Market – The beautiful one

Ride the subway and explore the beautiful flower market, taste carnitas, fruit, corn, green chorizo, candy, and more. There will be opportunities for beer if you want to have one (we got Mexican sodas for the kids if you are ok with them drinking sugary drinks)

12:30 PM

Jamaica Market – Time for the awards

After accomplishing the challenges we will provide during the tour, the kids will be rewarded with a tiny piñata and candy to fill it up. We have one last challenge to earn the “Hakuna Matata” badge: Taste some crickets

1:150 PM

Sweet finale – Time to relax

We will go back to Condesa for fun popsicles like lime with gummy bears or cookie monster, we can walk you to the nearest playground if the kids still have some energy.

things to consider before booking to have a great time with us

HOW TO PREPARE

Don´t have breakfast under ANY circumstances. Your life depends on it! You will have breakfast and lunch during the tour.
Your guide will be in touch via SMS or WhatsApp 1 or 2 hours before the tour, make sure to check your phone
Avoid bringing with you valuables such as jewelry and big cameras, we visit a non touristy and chaotic area where petty crime is common, don´t put yourself and the group in danger. Dangerous situations are easily avoidable by being discreet.
Avoid wearing short skirts and revealing clothes if you don´t want to attract undesirable attention from men at the markets.
Plan a nap after the tour, you will need it, TRUST ME ON THIS.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

We work in streets and markets, severe allergies can’t be accommodated because we cat avoid cross contamination and airborne particles. Be mindful with this please.
This tour is suitable for vegetarians but meat and veggies will be cooked on the same surfaces.
You´ll be at Jamaica market that is a very easy family-friendly market.
Consider that this tour rides the subway and it might be crowded and hot.

BEST DAYS FOR BOOKING

If you like to experience more crowds and a lively atmosphere, then come on the weekend
Mondays are great for this tour because many museums and attractions are closed but the markets are fully operating.
On weekdays the markets are easy and less crowded, if you can’t handle lots of crowds a week day would be best.
Consider that special occasions like: Valentines, Day of the dead, Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc etc change the dynamic of the markets, and sometimes even if it’s a week day it can be packed.

FITNESS LEVEL and bathroom situation

We have many opportunities to use the restroom during the tour, just make sure to inform your guide in advance so she can plan ahead, because not all the bathrooms are easily accesible.
There are many siting opportunities during this tour so the kids can rest and be able to finish the tour.
